Adam Perez is a combat Veteran, police detective, and longtime community leader who is currently serving his second term on the Fontana Unified School District Board.

Adam grew up in Southern California in a family with a long history of military service. His mom worked for the court system and his dad was a tire salesman and Vietnam War veteran. Adam lost his mom when he was just 16 years old.

Adam enlisted in the Army during his senior year of high school and served for five years, rising to the rank of Sergeant. His assignments included serving in the 1st Infantry Division in Kosovo, where he helped guard a NATO base during the country’s first free and fair parliamentary elections. Adam later served with the 1st Cavalry Division in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Upon returning to civilian life, Adam embarked on a career as a police officer. He currently works as a detective in Riverside County.

Wanting to continue serving his community, Adam ran for and won a seat on his local School Board in 2018. As a School Boardmember, he has expanded the use of technology in classrooms, introduced a Financial Literacy Program for high school students, and improved access to mental health services. He’s also worked to implement a new career pathways program and expand STEM and CTE programs throughout the district.

Adam’s long history of community leadership includes volunteering to mentor youth who are at-risk or on probation.

Adam holds an associate’s degree in behavioral science, a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, and a master’s degree in business administration. He, and his wife, Anahi, live in Fontana with their two dogs. Anahi works for the County of San Bernardino.
